House of Bid
What gets a listing removed?
House of Bid removes listings that lie about condition, hide damage, use stock photos, or sell prohibited goods. Sellers attest before publish; staff review estate launches. Repeat abuse can forfeit fees and lose hosting.
What counts as a misleading listing?
Calling something “like new” when wear is visible, omitting missing parts, or showing a different model than the title describes. If the buyer would feel tricked at pickup, fix the copy or pull the lot.
What is on the prohibited list?
Weapons without proper compliance, recalled products, counterfeits, illegal goods, live animals, and categories we cannot host under payment and insurance rules. When in doubt, ask before preview opens.
What happens when a lot is reported?
Ops reviews photos and copy. Confirmed violations come down; buyers on affected lots get a notice. Serious or repeat sellers lose catalog access.
Questions
Do I need to disclose every scratch?
- Disclose what a reasonable buyer would care about at pickup. If you would mention it face-to-face, put it in copy or show it in a photo.
Can I edit photos after bidding starts?
- Fix honest mistakes early. Swapping photos to hide damage after bids arrive is treated as fraud.
